Elon Musk leaning towards DeSantis for president ~ DeSantis responds

In a late-night discussion on Twitter, billionaire Elon Musk said he’s leaning toward Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024.

Most political observers consider DeSantis entering the 2024 race for president unlikely, but one can never say never in politics, and Musk has sparked change before in his life.

DeSantis dispelled rumors earlier this year that he would run:

“Donald Trump’s a friend of mine. He is proud when people do well, and it’s not just me, but obviously, he’s a Florida resident, and he appreciates the job that we’ve done. He’s told me that many times, not only with helping with the election but just how we govern the state.” DeSantis told FOX News in February.

DeSantis for president? He just beat Trump in poll

The following is the Twitter exchange that is currently rocking the political world.

Gov. DeSantis responds with humor and wit:

Many think DeSantis is the best governor in the country, but Donald Trump is Donald Trump. The problem for DeSantis is that if he does have his eye on the presidency and refuses to challenge his friend Trump in 2024, the next time he could run would be 2028.

DeSantis would be term-limited out in 2026, which means he’d be an ex-governor running for president, and ex-governors don’t get the attention sitting governors do.

We’ll see what happens, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of anyone running for president on the Republican side in 2024.
