Drunken Eagles Fan Breaks into Florida Firehouse, Steals Cash, Pees on Floor, Throws Meat Cleaver at Firemen

Philadelphia Eagles fan Edward Dalasandro, 25, was taken to Martin County Jail Sunday night after he broke into a Stuart firehouse, ransacked the bunk rooms, stole cash, peed on the floor, and threw a meat cleaver at firefighters when they tried to keep him from fleeing.

Dalasandro was upset on Sunday, as his beloved team lost Super Bowl LVII that night to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 38 – 35.

According to Martin County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy John Budensiek

“He was kicked out of a bar earlier in the evening for being belligerent and extremely intoxicated”

According to District Fire Chief Tom Hornbostel, Dalasandro somehow got into fire station 14 on NE Ocean boulevard, in Hutchinson Island, through the back door at around 10 p.m.

“It’s still under investigation as to how exactly he got into this point,” Hornbostel said.

Hornbostel said Dalasandro’s first stop was the bunk room, where the firefighters’ lockers are.

“This individual actually went through all these (lockers), opened them up, and started ransacking,” he said.

Hornbostel said that’s where Dalasandro stole the meat cleaver, other knives, a uniform hat, and $126 in cash.

Dalasandro then marked his territory by peeing on the rug in the bunk room. He then went into a hallway and ran into one of the firefighters.

“The firefighter at that time immediately started calling for the other crew members that something was wrong,” Hornbostel said.

The chief said firefighters escorted Dalasandro outside, which investigators said was the second building he was removed from Sunday night.

At the fire station, firefighters didn’t allow him to leave.

They said that’s when firefighters got a nasty surprise when Dalasandro threw the meat cleaver at them. Fortunately, he missed.

Martin County sheriff’s deputies arrived to save the day and placed Dalasandro into custody.

Investigators said they’ve tried to interview Dalasandro to understand his actions but said he has not been forthcoming with information.

“Other than belligerent talk and swearing profusely at our deputies and the fire rescue personnel and the hospital employees that tried to treat him afterward, he hasn’t said anything,” Budensiek said.

Edward Dalasandro was charged with armed burglary, aggravated assault on a firefighter, and theft. He was transported to the Martin County Jail, booked in, and held on a $120,000 bond.

In his Martin County Jail mugshot, Dalasandro can be seen wearing his Philadelphia Eagles jersey and a nice shiner on his right eye. He must have caught an elbow or something while fighting with the hose draggers.
