DeSantis pushes back against Dem Governors hysterical response to Monkeypox [VIDEO]
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is once again hitting out at Democratic politicians and Governors after making Florida a model conservative state in the culture war.
Under DeSantis, Florida was one of the first states to reopen during the Covid-19 pandemic.
DeSantis was attacked for his Covid-19 response at the time but later vindicated as numerous reports came in from across the country showing that keeping schools closed during the pandemic had a tremendously negative effect on children’s mental health and development.
On Wednesday, DeSantis responded to the supposed public health crisis that has been created by an outbreak of the Monkeypox virus.
Following the same script that he did on Covid-19, he cautioned against hysteria, as multiple Democratic Governors have already declared a public health emergency in response to the outbreak.
He began by saying that people should not listen to politicians that are trying to stir up fear over the Monkeypox virus.
“Any of these politicians you see out there trying to scare you about this — do not listen to their nonsense,” he said.
“I am so sick of politicians — and we saw this with COVID — trying to sow fear into the population. We’ve had people calling — mothers worried about whether their kids could catch it at school.”

DeSantis then contrasted his response to the Monkeypox and Covid-19 pandemic with his liberal colleagues in other states, saying that he handles public health issues with “facts” and not “fear.
“Anything we deal with from a public health perspective, particularly with Joe at the helm, you know, we are not doing fear. They’re going to do facts. And we are not going to go out and try to rile people up and try to act like people can’t live their lives as they’ve been normally doing, you know, because of something,” DeSantis said.

The Florida Governor went on to say that Governors who declare a state of emergency over the Monkeypox outbreak are likely to abuse their powers, as they did during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“You see some of these states declaring states of emergency. They’re going to abuse those emergency powers to restrict your freedom — I guarantee you, that’s what will happen. We saw it so much with COVID,” he said.
DeSantis’ opponent for Governor, Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried, hosted a Q&A on Facebook live to discuss the Monkeypox epidemic. Video footage from the event shows that so few people attended that when she opened up the event to questions, none were asked.
Every time I think @NikkiFried has gained ground on @GovRonDeSantis she pulls me back in with her moronic pressers. Here she is using the @FDACS platform to do non-Ag stuff like have a conference nobody watches (and where she lies about everyone being able to catch the monkeypox) pic.twitter.com/vuQE2GF4mK
