The shooting happened after the sheriff’s office obtained a warrant for Price-Williams on a domestic-violence charge, the news release said. Price-Williams refused to leave his home. Shots ultimately were fired from the home, hitting Hamilton, who was with other officers in an area behind a backyard fence, according to the news release. Hamilton died after being taken to HCA Fort Walton Beach-Destin Hospital. A funeral will be held Saturday at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center.
