DeSantis Endorsements, Fundraising Surge After GOP Debate
Governor Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign is getting a boost following his appearance at this week’s GOP primary debate.
Just days after declaring his debate performance to have been a success, the campaign has rolled out at least three dozen new state-level endorsements, and announced a further $1 million in fundraising.
According to the campaign’s latest filings, the Governor raised $15 million in the third fundraising quarter between his campaign committee, leadership PAC, and joint fundraising committee. On Friday, the campaign announced that they had raked in a further $1 million within 24 hours of DeSantis’s appearance on the debate stage.
In an email to their supporters, the campaign partly attributed the momentum to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’s endorsement of DeSantis this week.
“This is yet another example of how our fundraising continues to accelerate this quarter, and is a sign of our growing momentum following the historic endorsement of Kim Reynolds and a debate victory this week,”

Reynolds’s endorsement is also seen as having played a role in securing a further two dozen endorsements in Iowa.
On Friday, the Des Moines Register reported that 24 state-level figures had joined Reynolds in supporting DeSantis, including county GOP officials, school board members, city councilors, law enforcement officers, and activists.
The outlet wrote that Former U.S. Rep. Greg Ganske “topped” that list. In addition to his time in Congress, he is described as a “longtime leader” of the Iowa Farm Bureau.
“The country is weary of the chaos that would mark another Trump term. In my opinion, DeSantis is the best Republican candidate to win the presidency,” Ganske stated in a press release. “I hope my friends will support him in the Iowa caucuses as I will.”
DeSantis is currently in second place according to the latest Des Moines Register poll of likely Republican caucusgoers, at 16 percent support versus Trump’s 43 percent support. DeSantis and Reynolds, however, believe they can make up the difference.
“I’m just here to tell his story,” Reynolds said Monday, announcing her endorsement. “To make sure people look at the record and know what he’s done and why I believe that he’s the right person for this job, the right person at the right time. And so I’m going to tell it over and over, and I’m not going to miss an opportunity to do that. When I’m in, I’m all in.”

Following Wednesday’s debate, DeSantis also notched 12 state lawmakers endorsements across nine states, bringing the total to the 330 state-level endorsements. Those states include Tennessee, Maine, Kansas, Montana, Massachusetts, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Minnesota.
“Governor Ron DeSantis is the future of the Republican Party,” Rep. Elliott Engen of Minnesota said in a statement.
“As a state representative in a purple state, I know Governor DeSantis will provide the leadership and support our party needs to win across America without sacrificing bold, conservative policy.”
Another endorsee, Sen. Daniel Zolnikov of Montana, wrote, “With the world on fire, America needs a serious leader for a serious time,”
“Only Ron DeSantis has shown the courage, steadfastness, and ability to govern that our nation deserves.”
