DeSantis Backs MAGA After Clinton’s Shocking Call For ‘Deprogramming’
Governor Ron DeSantis defended former President Donald Trump’s supporters this week after Hillary Clinton called for their “deprogramming” and compared MAGA voters to a “cult.” On CNN earlier this week, Clinton said that “MAGA extremists” were “taking their marching orders from Donald Trump.”
“Hillary Clinton is deplorable for saying that Trump voters should be placed in a reeducation camp. This just shows how nuts the left has become,” DeSantis posted to the social media platform X. “The left wants a one-party state — and will get one if we don’t fight back!”
On Friday, DeSantis formally pushed back against Clinton’s remarks during an interview on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box.’ Host Joe Kernen had asked the Florida Governor,
“Hillary Clinton just said something like, maybe that cult needs [to] go to some re-education training or something just to get out of the Trump cult — but you see what you’re up against and how difficult it is.”
DeSantis replied,
“I don’t, I reject that. I mean, look, these are patriotic Americans. They want to see the country do well.”
“These folks get it,” he continued. “They want to see the country do well. Some people will be with Trump no matter what, but I think the bulk of the people are people that appreciate what he did. They also understand that he’s got limitations in terms of his electability.”

In a ‘Fox News Sunday’ teaser released on Friday, DeSantis continued to address Clinton’s comments at length. In a sit-down interview with Shannon Bream, DeSantis referred to the former Secretary of State as “deplorable” and blamed her for the political divide in America.
“That is deplorable. I mean she is the part of the reason why this country is so divided. I mean to attack people that support a candidate just because you couldn’t get the job done and you’re still bitter about that. But we need to stop casting aspersions on people that disagree with us.”
DeSantis continued,
“Look, people that support the former President are patriotic Americans, I think he’s got a good following, I think that you’re going to see a lot of movement in the next few months, particularly in places like Iowa–we certainly look forward to doing that. But what she’s doing is part of the reason this country is so polarized and we need to stop that.”

On Thursday, Clinton joined CNN for an interview, where she was asked about “GOP Chaos.” The twice-failed former Presidential candidate appeared as bitter as ever, attacking Trump and his voters.
“Sadly, so many of those MAGA extremists take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure,” she said. “He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself against civil actions and criminal actions. When do they break with him?”
“At some point maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members. Something needs to happen.”
