De Niro Compares Trump to ‘Evil’ Character – ‘That Guy is Stupid’

Liberal Hollywood elite Robert De Niro launched another tirade about Donald Trump over the weekend, comparing the former president to a real-life convicted killer. At Cannes Film Festival, De Niro spoke about his new movie Killers of the Flower Moon, which centers around cattle farmer William Hale and his mass-murder of more than sixty Osage Indians. While addressing reporters at a press conference, De Niro said he didn’t “understand a lot about” the character but said he likely had a “feeling of entitlement,” which he related to Trump.

“I don’t understand a lot about my character. Part of him is sincere. The other part, where he’s betraying [the Osage people], there’s a feeling of entitlement,” De Niro said before spouting off about white supremacy and Donald Trump.

“We became a lot more aware [of white supremacy] after George Floyd–systemic racism. It’s the banality of evil, and we see it now with… I’m not going to say the name because that guy is stupid,” De Niro said, referencing the former president. “Imagine if you’re smart. Even Hale was smart in many ways.”

“It’s like with Trump– I had to say it. There are people who think he could do a good job. Imagine how insane that is.”

De Niro, whose acting credits range from Taxi Driver to Dirty Grampa, has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump for years– often displaying his contempt through profanity-laden public outbursts.

During the 2018 National Board of Review awards gala, De Niro, in a viral rant, called the then-President a ‘f–king idiot.’

“Today the world is suffering from the real Donald Trump. Come on. You know. What are we talking about? This f–king idiot is the president. It’s the Emperor’s New Clothes – the guy is a f–king fool.”

Just months later, during the Tony Awards, De Niro launched a rant against Trump, dropping several f-bombs on live broadcasts that CBS scrambled to censor.

“I’m gonna say one thing: F–k Trump! It’s no longer down with Trump, it’s f–k Trump!”

Having had enough of De Niro’s tantrums, Trump shot back in a now-deleted Tweet:

“Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received [too] many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk.’”

In an interview, De Niro described his new film as “a reckoning with our past.” The 79-year-old actor added that he feels audiences have grown tired of films where “the good guy goes south or to Indian country and saves the day,” continuing, “this is much more important.”

The film’s director, Martin Scorsese, added, “It was a template for that tragedy of love, trust, and betrayal of the indigenous people.”

The three-and-a-half hour-long film is set to hit theaters in October.
