Crist Got Mocked for Comparing Himself to Jesus, Doubled Down With Tom Brady

Video has recently surfaced of Charlie Crist comparing himself to Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s legendary quarterback Tom Brady at a campaign event back in June.

Crist said that his perseverance in the face of ten years of defeats was similar to Brady going ten years without a Super Bowl victory.

“I got elected to represent Tampa Bay in 2016. I had not won an election in 10 years. It was just like, y’know, Tom Brady. He hadn’t won a Super Bowl in 10 years,” Crist continued. “But if you don’t give up, if you stick with it if you do what you know is right, and you believe in God, you stay on the field. Especially if you think you can do it.”

But apparently, Tom Brady wasn’t a prestigious enough comparison because Crist also compared himself to Jesus Christ a few months later, pointing out the name similarity and referencing DeSantis as Satan. The DeSantis War Room posted the full video to their Twitter account, referencing Crist’s history.

Crist also cited his high name recognition as a reason he ran and believed he could win.

“I almost would’ve felt guilty not running for governor this time around; I’ll tell you why. I know I have all this name ID because I’ve run statewide six times. That’s a lot. It’s been a journey”

However, the DeSantis War room and other Floridians didn’t see this as a positive.
