Former UFC Champion Conor McGregor’s appearance at the NBA Finals didn’t go well for him or the Heat’s mascot “Burnie.”

The man who plays the Miami Heat mascot, Burnie, was taken to the emergency room after being punched by former UFC champion Conor McGregor during Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night, according to The Athletics’ Sam Amick.

“As if losing Game 4 of the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets wasn’t tough enough on the Miami Heat, it turns out the man who plays their beloved mascot, Burnie, was taken to the emergency room of a nearby hospital for treatment after being leveled by former UFC champion Conor McGregor on Friday night,” Amick wrote. “According to a league source briefed on the matter, the man was given pain medication by the doctor and has since been sent home and is doing well.”

Conor McGregor & Burnie

McGregor was at Game 4 between the Heat and Nuggets at Kaseya Center on Friday night to announce during a time out that his TIDL Sport body spray is now an official sponsor of the Miami Heat.

McGregor, dressed in a red velvet tracksuit, took to the microphone to promote his new body spray and was booed off the court by the Heat faithful despite saying it was his first time courtside at an NBA game.

Then it went downhill from there.

McGregor was approached by the Heat’s mascot Burnie, wearing gold boxing gloves and looking for a fight.

In an apparent skit gone wrong, the two sized each other up, and McGregor unleashed a left hook to Burnie’s head, knocking his hat off and Burnie to the floor.

The crowd responded with gasps and more boos, unaware of what was happening.

McGregor then leaned over and threw a jab to Burnie’s face as he lay there, finishing him off, and then sprayed Bernie with TIDL as he was dragged off the court by his legs.
