‘Cold, Heartless, Selfish’ Biden Ripped For Refusing to Acknowledge Hunter’s Daughter
On Saturday, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote a scathing Op-Ed criticizing President Joe Biden for not acknowledging one of his grandchildren, four-year-old Navy Joan, the daughter of First Son Hunter Biden.
The issue was brought to the public’s attention after Biden claimed that he had six grandchildren, excluding Navy, who Hunter had with Arkansas stripper Lunden Roberts in 2018.

Dowd said that Joe Biden’s refusal to acknowledge his seventh granddaughter will cause her to be bullied in school and cause numerous other obstacles in her life.
‘She will probably be able to see a video or two showing her half-sister Naomi getting married on the South Lawn and you watching the fireworks on the balcony with little Beau. And if she misses that, there will be plenty of schoolmates to remind her that she wasn’t wanted. Kids can be mean that way,’ She said.
Dowd shared a letter her sister, Peggy, wrote that criticized the President for giving his four-year-old granddaughter, saying that Navy has ‘Biden blood running through her veins,’ but was being denied the benefits of being a Biden.

‘All she is going to have as a reminder of this are some of Hunter’s original paintings; sounds like a lousy trade-off, if you ask me,’ she added.
Genuinely can’t wrap my head around the callousness of Pres. Biden refusing to acknowledge his granddaughter. This will be a real issue. People understand Hunter’s battle w/addiction, they don’t understand mistreating an innocent child. https://t.co/HouYSYd3Eg

In the letter, she pleaded with President Biden to not ‘throw away’ his granddaughter.
‘I know you still carry that pain with you every day because I have watched your face when you speak about her,’ Peggy wrote. ‘Please do not throw away your granddaughter.’
The issue has led people on both sides of the aisle to criticize Biden for cruelty towards his granddaughter.

Representative Elise Stefanik, R-Ny. who recently gave birth to a child, said that ‘every American’ understands Biden refusing to acknowledge Navy is wrong.
‘Every American knows that Joe Biden should have done the right thing years ago and acknowledged ALL of his grandchildren,’ said Stefanik.
She went on to call Biden’s treatment of his granddaughter an ‘inexcusable disgrace’
‘It is cold, heartless, selfish, and cowardly that the President of the United States can’t show love or compassion to his beautiful granddaughter. America sees this for what it is – an inexcusable disgrace.’

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to comment on the issue when asked to by reporters.
‘I don’t have anything to share from here,’ Jean-Pierre said at a recent press briefing.
REPORTER: “There was a story in the New York Times over the weekend about Hunter Biden’s daughter in Arkansas. Does the president acknowledge this little girl as his granddaughter?”

People across the political spectrum have torn into President Biden after the issue surfaced last week.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald called it ‘repellent’ that Biden ‘refuses to have anything to do’ with his granddaughter.
Politics aside, Joe Biden's refusal to have anything to do with his granddaughter, and his demands that everyone who work in the White House avoid any mention of her, is absolutely repellent.
I honestly don't understand how someone can get themselves to do that: https://t.co/Kc9Mb9YOBU

Conservative political commentator and operative Mike Davis called Biden a ‘monster’ for making Navy’s life more difficult and refusing to help her, even quietly, despite being in a position where it would be easy for him to do so.
"Joe Biden has shown himself to be a monster. He’s the President of the United States. He could find a way, even quietly, to take care of his four-year-old granddaughter. Instead, he’s going out of his way to make it more difficult." – @mrddmia pic.twitter.com/kUYcIwiZhQ

For his part, Hunter Biden claimed in his memoirs that he has ‘no recollection’ of the ‘encounter’ with the woman who is the mother of his child that led to her conception, but claims he has ‘taken responsibility’ for his actions.
‘I had no recollection of our encounter,’ Hunter wrote in his memoir about the matter. ‘That’s how little connection I had with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess I’ve taken responsibility for.’
