His heir is his beloved winter white, cream Birman cat named Choupette. The fluffy feline is a pampered celebrity in her own right who has a sizable social media following, a book, and several fashion campaigns. The pampered pussy is an heiress with millions of dollars who has her own caretaker, and tonight, she will be on display on the runway for the world’s most famous fashion show. Lagerfeld adopted a kitten in 2011 named Choupette, and she quickly became a celebrity in her own right, with a solid social media presence and numerous fashion collaborations.

Lagerfeld was famously devoted to Choupette, treating her like royalty and even referring to her as his “daughter.” He often brought her to fashion shoots; she even appeared in a few campaigns.
One of Choupette’s most notable possessions is her custom-made car, which Lagerfeld had designed and built specifically for her. The white cat-sized Rolls Royce vehicle features a personalized license plate that reads “Choupette.”
Choupette also reportedly has her own personal maid, chef, and bodyguard and has been known to eat off silver platters and travel by private jet.
Following Lagerfeld’s death in 2019, Choupette was left with a sizable inheritance and continues to live a luxurious lifestyle.

Guests have been instructed to — surprise — dress “in honor of Karl.” Expect to see a lot of Chanel, Fendi, and Lagerfeld, as well as Chloé, Balmain, and Patou (where Mr. Lagerfeld worked early in his career). Hopefully, that will mean a lot of vintage, making this the most sustainable Met Gala ever — an exciting possibility.
