BREAKING: Trump Shot at, Injured During Rally

Former President Donald Trump was injured Saturday after gunshots rang out during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Video shows Trump clutching his ear just minutes into his speech as gunfire can be heard in the background. Secret service agents quickly rushed the stage to surround the former President. As he stood up, the right side of his face could be seen covered in blood.

Trump could be heard on audio telling the Secret Service, “Wait, wait,” before showing the audience a defiant raised fist. He was then immediately escorted offstage by his security detail.

Shortly after a spokesman for the Secret Service confirmed on X that an “incident” occurred during the rally. “The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe,” the statement reads. “This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.”

Spokesman for the Trump Campaign Steven Cheung also confirmed that the former President is safe, adding that he is “being checked out at a local medical facility.”

It is unclear whether any suspects have been taken into custody. NBC News confirmed that President Biden, who is currently in Delaware for the weekend, has been briefed on the situation.

Supporters of the former President took to social media after to share their thoughts and prayers. Tech mogul and ex-Biden voter Elon Musk said he was officially endorsing Trump, and wished him a speedy recovery.

This is a developing story. Updates will come as more information is available.
