A Brazen robber attacked a woman who was entering a grocery store with her children in the 8000 block of West McNab Road in North Lauderdale at approximately 4:15 pm, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim exited her vehicle with three small children and was walking toward the store. Surveillance video from the shopping center shows the suspect in the parking lot walking parallel to the group on the other side of a row of cars. As she enters the outer doors of the store, you can see the suspect come up behind her and pull at her necklace. The victim turned around and started to fight back. The suspect punched her, and the necklace gave way. The suspect fled the scene, running towards the back of the shopping center.

In an interview given to Local 10 News, the victim stated:
“I turn around and start punching,” “He falls down, I fall down, he crushes my daughter in between us.”
“I kept swinging, until he fell to the ground,” she said. “I clutched my daughter with everything in me and just kept swinging and yelling for help.”
“I’m on my back (and my 7-year-old son) took off to run to get help because that’s what I told him to do. I’m clutching onto my 3-year-old with my life,” the victim said. “I swung and swung and swung and fell down and kept swinging and holding on to my daughter for dear life.”
Prior to the robbery, a light colored Nissan with faded paint is seen entering the shopping center. The Nissan heads to the back of the parking lot and backs into a spot near the dumpsters for a quick getaway.
