In September of 2022, Osceola deputies, Violent Crimes Unit Detectives, and the 9th District Medical Examiner’s Office were dispatched to a Kissimmee address regarding a suspicious death. Upon arrival, they observed a male dressed in bondage gear that appeared to have sustained severe trauma to his body.
During the investigation into the online chats, it was determined that Demelo was the last person to be in contact with the victim. When Osceola detectives interviewed Demelo, he stated he and the victim met in a chat group online. The two then arranged to meet in person for sex in Osceola County. While the victim was performing oral sex on Demelo, the victim bit down on Demelo’s penis, which caused Demelo to proceed to beat the victim unconscious. Demelo left the victim as he was and fled the scene without helping the victim or calling 911.

Investigators said that during questioning, Demelo said that he beat the victim during the sexual encounter.
Records show that the 9th District Medical Examiner’s office ruled that the death was caused by blunt force trauma and strangulation.
An arrest warrant for Demelo was later obtained in Osceola County for manslaughter.
