Alvin Bragg’s Office Nasty Response to GOP Probe – ‘Stop Calling Us With This Bulls–t’

The Manhattan district attorney’s office offered a flippant response to the House Judiciary Committee following a document request this week, telling a staffer to “stop calling us with this bulls–t.” Representatives for District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office have refused to cooperate with the House Judiciary’s investigation and are now facing criticism over their unprofessional choice of words.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen any government entity respond to Congress in that manner. It’s quite embarrassing, but I don’t think anyone is surprised based on how partisan that office has become,” a person familiar with the call reportedly told the New York Post.

According to the report, a House Judiciary staffer first tried to contact the district attorney’s office at noon on Wednesday, seeking documents and testimony relating to the office’s investigation of former president Donald Trump. But when the staffer called the D.A.’s office and introduced himself, the woman on the other end quickly hung up.

The staffer tried calling back later and again introduced himself over the phone but received a brazen response from the representative,

“Your committee has no jurisdiction over us. You’re wrong. Stop calling us with this bulls–t.”

Since the phone call, Bragg’s office has denounced the House Judiciary probe and threatened not to comply. A statement from Bragg’s general counsel Leslie Dubeck condemned the GOP-led investigation as “an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution.”

Less than 24 hours after an office representative told off the congressional staffer, Dubeck wrote in a five-page response that,

“While the DA’s Office will not allow a Congressional investigation to impede the exercise of New York’s sovereign police power, this Office will always treat a fellow government entity with due respect.”

Despite her disapproval of the inquiry, Dubeck stated that she would be willing to “meet and confer with committee staff to better understand what information the DA’s Office can provide that relates to a legitimate legislative interest.” The response was reportedly enough to halt a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee, which prepared to issue one if the D.A.’s office did not respond.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is reportedly preparing charges against Donald Trump for his alleged role in a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump was expected to be indicted this week, but as of Friday, the grand jury still has not made a decision. The earliest possible day that Trump could now be indicted is Monday.

In a recent Truth Social post, the former president predicted that there could be “death and destruction” if he is charged in connection to the grand jury probe.

“What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States… with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country?”
