Air National Guardsmen Arrested by FBI-Applied For Hitman Job on Parody Site – ‘Put Me In Coach’

scheme after federal agents said he responded to a parody website promoting jobs for hitmen.

According to the criminal complaint, Garcia told an undercover FBI agent that he needed money and thought he would be good at killing people because of his military experience and because he was an excellent marksman.
According to the complaint, Garcia needed money to support his family. In mid-February, he began searching online for mercenary contract jobs at the suggestion of another Air Guard member and came across the website www.rentahitman.com.
The hitman website was initially created in 2005 to advertise a cyber security startup company, the company failed, and over the next decade, it received many inquiries about murder-for-hire services. The administrator then converted the website to a parody site containing false testimonials from those who have purported to use Hitman services and an online form where people can request assistance. The website also allows someone to apply to work as a hired killer.
Garcia submitted an employment application indicating that he wanted to obtain employment as a hitman. Garcia followed up on this initial request and submitted other identification documents and a resume, indicating he was an expert marksman and was currently employed in the Air National Guard since July 2021.
Garcia’s resume also indicated that he was nicknamed the “Reaper” due to his military experience and marksmanship skills. Garcia followed up with the website administrator, indicating that he wanted to go to work as soon as possible.
In one follow-up email, Garcia added a section on “Why I want this Job,” according to the affidavit. “I’m looking for a job that pays well, related to my military experience (Shooting and Killing the marked target), so I can support my kid on the way. What can I say? I enjoy doing what I do, so if I can find a job that is similar to it (such as this one), put me in coach!” it reads.
An FBI undercover agent began communicating with Garcia, who subsequently agreed to kill an individual for $5,000. On Wednesday, Garcia met the undercover agent at a park in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and was provided with a target packet of a fictional individual, which included photographs and other information about the individual to be killed and a down payment of $2,500.

After agreeing to the terms of the murder-for-hire arrangement, Garcia asked the agent if he needed to provide a photograph of the dead body.
Garcia was then arrested by FBI agents, who subsequently searched his home and recovered an AR-style rifle.
If convicted, Garcia faces up to 10 years in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee.
